For this artwork I wanted to go further a felid experimenting with an environment outside of the garden. A place I visit often is my local beach with my dog. The sound of the seaweed underfoot is something that really attracted me to make an artwork that surrounds the beach and seaweed in particular.

I have experimented with making my own paper for this artwork something that I have never tried before and something I would like to perhaps try again In the future.

I wasn’t blown away by the results of the paper making process as it took around a week to dry and was thinner in some areas than others making it quite weak and fragile. I decided to rip it into sections letting the paper decide how it wanted to be and overlaying them on top of one another.

I liked the different textures given bye the paper in the above images. For the slightly pink coloured paper I added some paint to give the colour and incorporated some flower petals that came from the garden linking the paper back to the space. These pictures also remind me of the original images I had taken whilst at the beach.

I have been looking at Jackson Pollock and his famous drip technique that he used to create most of his artworks. I gave adapted this technique to suit my style and way of working creating fine wobbly lines that run across the canvas.
