Going on from my initial observational sketches focusing in on closer areas within the garden I created my own view finder using some old sticks that came from a dead tree that were pilled in the corner of the garden. The view finder was just under one square foot and I carried it around the garden aiming to capture different areas.

The objective of this was to frame areas that aren’t looked at often, highlighting them. As I was going this it was interesting to see the contrast of what was happening both on the inside and outside of the square and how it was exactly the same thing. This brought me back to the point of how people can just walk by and not notice spaces. But by placing a square around something framing a viewpoint immediately shows some level of importance to the space.

Taking something from the space and using it to display an object from the space. Items can be taken from the garden and be used as a means to display objects and items within it. I have accomplished this by creating a spiderweb this is referring to the history of the object and all that it has been through.

For this project I have been looking at the artists Barbara Hepworth and the way she makes site specific artworks taking inspiration from her surroundings. Hepworth uses industrial materials such as metal to create her sculptures, this for me is to industrial as I am focusing more on recycling what I already have around me.
